Apple Shortcuts & BBC Sounds, opening, pausing and closing....

I have a shortcut that plays BBC Sounds on the HomePod in our bedroom, when the 'Wake Up' alarm is cancelled. This works fine. When I want the radio to stop I say, 'Hey Siri, stop'.

The problem I have is that, if I then use another shortcut to start playing BBC Sounds on a HomePod in the kitchen, rather than playing 'live' radio, it continues the radio programme from the point at which I stopped it in the bedroom. It seems as though, rather than stopping the audio, it's just paused.

This causes all sorts of problems in the mornings, as the time checks I hear in the kitchen are completely wrong!

I'm guessing that the way to solve this would be to have a shortcut that closes the BBC Sounds app in bedroom before going downstairs.

Can any one suggest how this could be done or suggest a better solution?

Many thanks,

HomePod mini
