Until about two weeks ago I could ask Siri to play a music track from my library and it would. Now when I ask for example "Hey Siri play play Midnight Rambler by the Rolling Stones" all I get is "Sorry you'll need to continue in BBC sounds".
If I ask the same question to Siri on my iPad it plays the track.
Help and thought will be appreciated.

Siri appears to have chosen BBC Sounds as your new default music app. Ask Siri to ‘play music from music’ and it may once more choose songs from your Apple Music app. You may have to do this repeatedly until it ‘learns’.

Sadly the problem with my I phone has returned but it is intermittent.
I have had my iPhone 8 since December 2019 and I enjoyed the fact that I could ask Siri to play a music track. A few weeks ago when I requested a track via Siri I got the message " Sorry you will have to continue in BBC sounds". All other questions to Siri are still answered.
A few days ago I reset the phone back to factory settings and all was well but the problem has returned and strangely when I asked Siri to play a track this morning it turned on BBC radio 4.
Any thoughts?

Yes I've had same problem with an iPhone 11 Pro with iOS 14.6
Restarting iPhone didn't fix it but I can still use Siri for other commands
I tried signing out of BBC Sounds app but problem still persist "Sorry you'll need to continue in BBC Sounds "

Yes it is strange . I used to like asking Siri to "Play some music I like" and seeing what it comes up with but the error message is annoying . However it does play a specific track if you ask it .......
With my phone it will not play a track that you ask for but it will on the iPad.
Hopefully we will get a solution from somebody. This problem started after the last upgrade.
It is not a matter of life and death but just a pain.
The only solution I've found was to delete BBC Sounds, restart and it was fine. But as soon as I added BBC Sounds again, the problem came back. Not sure, but I think this points to it being more of an issue with the BBC Sounds App than the phone?
The other morning I gave it another go and asked for a particular music track and it worked. I was amazed but within half an hour it reverted to asking "sorry you will need to continue in BBC sounds".

I have tried asking about ten times now and still receive the " Sorry you will need to continue in BBC sounds" message.
Naturally I will keep trying as it might just do the trick and I will let you know. It is so frustrating when this is a problem that has only started recently.

Your solution has worked so many thanks. Sometimes I still have the problem but it seems that Siri is in a learning mode.
No problem at all with my iPad which is good and hopefully the phone will continue to play tracks when I ask it.

I have managed to sort the problem by going back to factory settings. Drastic I know but it has worked. Still no idea what caused the problem.

It is a strange one as it certainly used to work on my phone and still occasionally does. No problem with the iPad.
