Cannot Update Password for Apple ID Settings

I got a new iPhone about a week ago. It's asking me to update my Apple ID password, which it won't let me do. It freezes on the attached screen. The Back and Continue buttons are dead. I have to quit the Settings app.


I have other problems that I believe are related, like Notes not syncing. I want to get this resolved first to see it it helps.


Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

We'd like to help with both issues, but we may need to first resolve the unresponsive issue regarding your Apple ID depending on how you have Notes set up to sync.


Let's confirm some details to better understand what's happening, along with ruling out some possible causes:

  1. Which accounts show that are syncing within Settings > Notes > Accounts?
  2. Are you signed into your Apple ID at the top of Settings?
  3. Has a restart been tried of your iPhone, or did you already have to try a force restart when it became unresponsive when tapping on 'Continue'?
