Unable to set up new email account in mail

Hi,


I am unable to set up a new IMAP account in Apple mail.


Once all details are input (as per the 2 images here), an error message says "Unable to verify account name or password". The username and password are correct. I can access this email account through the website, so it is there and the username and password are therefore working.


Then all of those settings I have edited revert back to "Automatically manage connection settings". It's as as if it is not finding the new server...?


I have removed the email account, and removed the server from the SMTP list. I have restarted my Mac. I have tried 2 different wifi connections. No luck!


If anyone has any way of resolving this issue, please let me know!

I appreciate your advice, however the safe mode didn't work either. 3 of my colleagues have set up their emails with the same settings without any issues, the steps I am taking are exactly the same as them, the only difference being my email address and password. So it has something to do with my settings. It fails to work on my iPhone as well. I am yet to try setting up on a different user account.

It doesn't work when logged in with a different user account. It also fails to set up in another mail app called Spark. I will have to figure out something else because it is not obviously a Mac issue, more likely the computer isn't pointing to the new server and somewhere it is reverting to the old server. All the old details were very similar.
