Can’t shut down my Mac. iOS device connected never finishes syncing. Unbelievable! Have to hold down the power key to shut down. This has been going on too long. Very disappointing…

Form the Finder sidebar you can eject the iOS device before you "shut down" if it is connected—if you do not see the iOS device change your Finder preferences:
(Alternatively just close the lid and let the Mac sleep)

Thank you. I’m aware of the finder “ functionality. “ iPhone in the finder sidebar just spins without finishing its sync and will not be ejected no matter how many times I click on the x . Even after shutting down the iPhone!
