M1 Mac mini not picking up mic or webcam through a usb-c hub

Does M1 not accept webcams/microphones through usb-c hubs? I've tried 2 separate hubs that work fine on my windows laptop, possibly something to do with thunderbolt?

I can't quite figure this one out, if anyone knows anything I'd really appreciate your comments.

Logitech webcam not recognized Macbook Pro M1 Max I can not get my logitech webcam to be recognized by my Macbook Pro M1 Max. Monterey 12.1. Have looked at other posts which remain unanswered.

Why does nothing plugged into the mini USB port work on my Mac Mini? I bought a M1 Mac mini in June of this year. Very pleased with the speed of operations but have a problem with the ports. The 2 ports which are standard USB work fine but the 2 mini USB ports don't work at all. I'm using an adaptor which connects the standard USB to the mini USB ports. This is very inconvenient because after I've plugged in my Screen monitor and time machine backup disk, there is no working port to plug in my webcam, so I have to unplug one port to plug in my webcam. Can anybody explain why these mini USB ports don't work? What's the point of them? Are they included to service specialised equipment, not used your standard run-of-the mill operator (eg for documents, music, web browsing, photos and Music.)

Try a different hub - sometimes, the hub does not provide power, etc...

I use the BlackBox USBC2000 w/ 30W USB-C power adapter plugged into it and it works perfectly with my M1 Mini.

I also use the same for my M1 iMac too.

Thanks soo much for this, I've managed to get it working by plugging the usb hub in the other way round. So so strange, going to presume it is my hubs. Will check out the blackbox!
