Under your Macintosh Hard-Drive navigate to
\Applications\Utilities|ScreenShot
Open the app and you can select what portion of the screen you would like to capture or the whole screen itself via timer. it's pretty self explanatory and easy to use. Also there are plenty of third party screen shot tools and extensions available in Safari Extensions, and the App Store.
