Filter Apple Music Playlist by Zero Plays

Hey there,

I would like to create an apple music playlist and then filter that playlist by playcount = 0 to create a playlist of songs I have not listened to. I am bumping up against the 100k song limit, so the songs on this playlist are not added to my library.

Create the playlist, add songs to it but not to library, create smart playlist w/ filter, but then smart playlist is not showing zero play songs from parent playlist.

Are plays tracked on songs not in your library?

Am I missing something else?

Thanks.

No, actually you're right.

I just checked myself: songs added to a playlist and not to the library are not tracking playing counts.

I found another evidence: https://www.reddit.com/r/AppleMusic/comments/jqflwl/play_count_not_updating/

You would think so, wouldnt you?

Playlist A

Smart Playlist B = Playlist A and Playcount = 0

Add songs to A, but not to library

B remains empty

perhaps it takes a long time to update?

perhaps something is odd w/ playcount being null rather than 0? (it displays a blank, not a zero)

perhaps something is odd w songs in the cloud as opposed to songs in my library?
