My 8 year old mac book pro retina 15 is getting tired. I am waiting for the macbook pro retina 16 to come out with the M1 chip. Does anyone know when that will happen? Thanks, Anita

I too was hoping for a new MBP announcement at the recent WWDC … 😕
The chips will likely be made for Apple by its current iPhone chip supplier, Taiwan Semiconductor Company (tsmc), THE "constrained supplier" we are reading about in the news which keeps us from getting enough state of the art chips to build cars and many other devices.
Read any reports of rumored announcement/shipment skeptically.
