No, that is a very early version of USB and wasn't really multi-functional like the USB-3 connection on modern Macs. Until Thunderbolt came along about 10 years ago, video required a dedicated video port. Even then, early Macs with TB usually had video ports too. It wasn't until recently that it's been everything done by USB (which actually shares its identity with Thunderbolt on newer Macs).
