MacMail much iwrse in Catalina

I just had to upgrade my OS, to Catalina, and was dismayed to discover that in AppleMail/MacMail one can no longer see both the "to" and the "from" in the message list, nor select the width of each column, nor have headings for those columns, nor much more of the good old stuff. and to then discover that these exact same complaints were registered online by many folks already in 2019, and yet the good old ways are not restored, certainly is disheartening. make one want to switch away from using AppleMail/MacMail. Any good suggestions?

Sorry to know you're having these problems with Apple's Mail app. It sounds like you have plenty of disappointment.

These Support Community forums are not staffed by Apple personnel. We here are just users like yourself, dropping in to provide assistance to others who are having issues or looking for information about how to use their Apple products.

Sometimes, posting your disappointment is cathartic, but doing so here in the Communities may not be helpful when it comes to product improvement. I suggest that if you want suggest ways that Apple can improve their product, then contact Apple directly .

FWIW, I find Apple Mail to be just fine for my personal and club uses as is. Of course, we're all different and expect different things from our software. If Mail doesn't cut it for you, I know there are other email clients out there. Maybe one of them is better suited for your needs?
