My M1 MacBook Pro has recently shown an x in its battery icon. My MacBook no longer functions unless plugged in. if I unplug the Macbook it shuts down. I was wondering how to fix this, if anyone could help it would be appreciated.

x on the battery icon means the battery is something wrong, try to check the battery with Apple Diagnostics if it reports battery related error.
