Trying to remove devices from MDM, but when I reboot screen is stuck on "Awaiting final configuration from [company name]"

I have removed our devices from SimpleMDM (this is the MDM provider we use), and removed them from Apple Business Manager, but when I try to reboot the device I am stuck on "Awaiting final configuration from [company name]"

Nothing seems to get me unstuck. Any ideas?
