Regarding macOS Software Upgrade

I am currently using MacBook Air (Retina, 13-inch, 2020). It is running on macOS Catalina 10.15 . My Mac model supports macOS Big Sur . But I haven't upgraded it at the time when this software was released i.e. November 2020 . Now when I check the available software updates on my Mac , it's still showing macOS Big Sur but it's 11.4 version . So, my question is that will it be safe to upgrade the software on my Mac now as it'a too late ?

Safe mode prevents your Mac from loading certain software when it starts up,

including login items, system extensions not required by macOS, and fonts not installed by macOS.

It also does a basic check of your startup disk, similar to using First Aid in Disk Utility

And it deletes some system caches, including font caches and the kernel cache,

which will be created again automatically as needed.

5: Make sure you have about 45-50GB storage space.
