New to me 2018 MBP and moved data from old Mac to new with migration assistant. I have verified sms mms and group are set. Verified that Mac is using the cloud for messages. but can not send nor receive messages to users that are not using apple devices. Somehow I need to deregister the link between my Mac and iPhone. So I can add it again and have a verification code displayed.
Yeah tried all the suggestions I found. But it seems the issue was this machine was in my cloud account twice. removing it and letting it get readied again, resolved it for me.
