FaceTime Hack?

I got a pop up window advising that someone is using my FaceTime and Apple ID to log on to a new Mac. I don't have a new Mac and haven't used FaceTime recently. Is this a real threat or some other kind of scam? Help!

It looks like someone has used your Apple ID and password to access FaceTime. Every time your Apple ID is used to signed in to a new device, your other devices will notify you. You should change your password as soon as possible and remove access to devices that don’t belong to you.

To do that:

  1. Open Settings > [your name], then look at the list of devices.
  2. Tap on the one that you don’t recognize, then tap Remove from Account
  3. If you see this, don’t worry. By changing your password, you will be signed out on all of your device except the one you are on. Tap Remove again and you’re done!
