Possible power surge damage?

Yesterday, I plugged in my iPhone & then almost immediately heard a popping sound. When I went to investigate, I noticed my phone was not charging though it was plugged into the wall. After trying the charger on another phone in the house as well as trying to charge the iPhone with other chargers, I discovered that both the charger & the phone would no longer charge. At first I thought the charger may have been faulty (though I've been using it for a month with no issues) and fried the phone's charging port, but now I'm wondering if this may have been caused by a power surge. Can anyone provide some insight on what may have caused this & whether there's anything I can do to fix the phone (as it is currently unresponsive to any chargers) before I hand it off to professionals?

iPhone XR, iOS 13

There's really no way we can diagnose this from our living rooms. You need to schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar and have the phone looked at.
