"Increase Display Contrast On " Why do I always get this message when logging on to my MacBook Air? I have Mac Os Big Sur

Make sure that the Display Contrast slider below is set to Normal (as in the screenshot), as you will get that message if it is set to anything higher, regardless if Increase Contrast is checked or not.

I actually managed to fix this. First, I tried updating to 11.4 but it didn't seem to work, I moved the "Display Contrast" setting one click to the right, after "normal," then logged out of my user account, upon logging in it still displayed the notification, but then I changed it back to normal and the "Increase Display Contrast off" popped up. Again, I logged out of my account and once I logged in, the pop up didn't show anymore.

I hope this works for you, too.

Increase contrast is already unchecked on my Macbook, but the message still displays on start-up!

I will take your comments in in order P.

1. Automatic security updates are disabled, but updates are installed as and when is convenient to me. As of today, no updates are outstanding.
2. Not sure about security software disabled. Having re-checked security, I find everything in place.
3. I use an external disc(s) for all backups; made regularly.
4. I use memory clean, so am not sure about your last comment?
5. LaunchHelper. Not sure about this as I am unable to find it in my apps.

Go to System Preferences->Accessibility->Display, and uncheck "increase contrast".

As suggested Safe Mode - does it perform as expected ? Safe Mode does a repair disk, clears cache files and only loads Apple Software, extensions and fonts. So, loads slowly - Normal. This will also identify if some third party software / extensions are interring with the Normal Operation of the OS. Should the issue remain in Safe Mode - it may indicate a User Account issue.

Should that happen -

Suggest downloading the Application Etrecheck directly from a Trusted Developer and well Respected ASC Contributor. The application is free or paid from added features. Run the application with Full Disc Access ( Security & Privacy - Full Disc Access ). It will take a Snap Shot -  both the hardware and software. The Report will Not Reveal Any Personal Information. Post back the Full Report - copy and paste - using the Additional Text Icon ( 3rd Icon to last )

We can have a look at the report for possible issues and may have possible suggestions to resolve the issues.

Any Third Party Applications that will interfere with the normal operation of the OS, alter, modify, remove or delete or attempt to do so is an invitation for disaster and may require a Reinstallation of the OS.

Applications like memoryclean should never be used in any version of the OS ever since 10.9 Mavericks. They work against the way macOS manages RAM and tend to cause severe performance losses. The OS keeps things in RAM so they are quickly reused if necessary. Freeing or purging RAM throws that away leaving RAM simply unused, for absolutely no gain.

Try resetting NVRAM. Also try restarting in Safe Mode and then normally again.

Well, you could try Luis' suggestion and reset the NVRAM. Also, you can trash the preference file for Accessibility found here: ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Accessibility.plist

Hi! I have the same problem, did you find a fix for it? Increase contrast is unchecked as well but the "Increase Display Contrast On" still shows every time I log in.
