gmail page covers screen - no way to scroll it smaller - El Capitan 10.11-6

OS El Capitan 10.11.6


Suddenly when I open gmail, the mail page opens and obscures the entire screen. There is no way to drag it to a different size. Even the top of the page is gone (address line, most visited, back or forward arrow to change to browser page (Firefox, extended support Release 78.11.0ESR (64 bit) No command to exit gmail either.


I have to use Force Quit to get rid of the page and then open the browser

Could you have put it in Full Screen Mode.

Move your cursor to the top of the screen and the menubar should drop down.

You will now see the red, yellow and green traffic light buttons, click on the green one to return to normal screen mode.

Or just hit the esc key.
