My new iPad 8 is freezing up in Settings?

I just setup my new iPad 8 from my old iPad. Everything transferred fine, but It gave a notice that I needed to connect my Apple id.

When I tried to connect to my Apple Id in Settings it tried for a long time. It's now locked and I cannot do any other Settings function.

The rest of the iPad seems to be working ok.

Help!
