Display the Title field in List view - Finder

Hi

I am an architect and in common with every office I have ever visited my drawings have their filename (or Name) as the Drawing Number. I use the PDF's 'Title' extension (completed in Adobe Acrobat) to give the file a descriptive drawing name (eg Ground Floor Plan) and this can be made to work OK in File Explorer on Windows.

I now work in an office with all Macs and although the Title field can be viewed in the Finder -either in the Preview window or 'Get Info' when clicking on individual files, it is not possible to add a 'Title' column to List view and navigate through a list of all the Titles in a folder. To be able to do so would be a boon to quickly accessing a drawing from the project set. Does anyone know is this functionality can be added to the finder? I have tried all options, preferences etc. There are add-ons expanding on this functionality in Windows eg PDF Property Extension. Is there anything available on the Mac? Adobe won't help as it is a Finder issue.

Also I had a look at how the Books app handles PDFs. Whereas the finder uses 'Name', Books replicates the 'Name' field as 'Title'. Very confused!

Apple would need to modify Finder to permit PDF Metadata as column headers in a Finder window. Not currently supported.

Finder offers a Preview setting to show the visual of the document within icon (⌘1), list (⌘2), and column (⌘3) views. Below this preview image will be certain selectable items from a Preview options panel, and one of these is Title.

Choose your preferred Finder view, and from the Finder View menu, select Show Preview. Click on one of your example PDFs with its Title set. Now, from the Finder View menu again, select Show Preview Options. I have shown an icon view with the selected PDF and its Title shown, based on the Preview option setting. This was a Title that I just shoved programmatically into the particular PDF.
