Flexgate on MacBook Pro

My MBP-15"-2018 started flickering in September 2020 (bought in Spain - EU - in August 2018, so that the warranty got expired just one month before!). After contacting AppleSupport, I got a quoted amount of >€800 (incl. tax) to service it. As we all have heard about the Flexgate problem and I find that amount way too expensive for a very well conserved yet very expensive laptop, I decided not to accept it. Now, my MBP is permanently flickering, also exhibiting a vertical band being almost useless at the left part of the screen, and the output is occasionally gone, just "displaying" vertical lines.

Since a judge who's presiding over a case from a group of consumers has already accused Apple of being aware of the Flexgate issue and selling the laptops anyway, I am wondering when Apple is going to address it for other MBP models than the ones already included within the Repair Extension Program (13", which were sold between October 2016 and February 2018).
