macOS Catalina to macOS Big Sur

Mines says “you may not install to this volume because it is currently being encrypted” I’m trying to get the Big Sur update

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

You will have to wait until the encryption process completes. Note, you won’t be able to turn off encryption until the encryption process completes, and if you then decide to turn encryption off, it will take a similar amount of time for the process to complete.


Both processes require the Mac to be on AC power.
