cpu threads - kernel_task

The activity monitor app on my MacBook Pro 13 inch, 2018 model, shows that the kernel_task is using 200+ threads, the next highest thread count is about 40. Is that too much and if so is there a way to fix it without damaging anything else?

If the issue persists, reset the SMC and NVRAM next:
