Lost my photoslibrary during Big Sur update, my hdd backups don't contain photoslibrary in the pictures folder

My backups go back almost a year, for some reason they won't load when trying to use Time Machine. Not sure if it's the conflicting OS versions. Haven't had the chance to plug my hdd into an older version.

It's almost like all my .photoslibrary files are missing besides the Photo Booth version, can't find them in any of my backups.

MacBook Pro 13″, OS X 10.10

Hi

How are you trying. Hopefully you are not browsing the time machine volume with finder. You need to "enter" time machine from the menu bar icon, or by opening the time machine app, if you've not enabled the icon in system preferences.

If the library is not where you expect it to be in time machine, have you stored it somewhere other than the pictures folder?

Try the following steps to find your library:

Possibly you have more than one photo library on your Mac, and are opening an older/different one.

If your library might be on an external volume, make sure it is connected and mounted, then:

First try opening photos while holding the option key. Is more than one library listed. If so, open them in turn to see if any contain your photos.

If not, then use the spotlight search to see if there are any other libraries (search in finder). Put photoslibrary in the searchbox.

Make sure "this mac" is selected.

If you click on the found libraries in turn, the location will be shown at the bottom of the finder window. Open each one to see if they contain your images. (Use the option key to start photos then select the library)
