Are my AirPods FAKE?

Are my AirPods FAKE?

Almost the same as in thread:

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252739401

Hello, I am curious if my airpods 2 are fake.

The model number that is written in my phone  is A2000 - this is not a model of any airpods as far as I know.

The serialnumber in the phone  and on the airpods are "GT***X2Y". Which looks identical as in the other thread. Can I send a message to user:jure241 to compare the serial numbers?

If I look up the serial nummer on Apple it is a valid one and belongs to "Airpods 2". But of course it can be copied from an existing real "Airpods 2".

Click on this link to discover how to 'Find the serial number of your AirPods' --> https://support.apple.com/HT209371

Enter the serial number in this link --> Check Your Service and Support Coverage - Apple Support - https://checkcoverage.apple.com/

Does it find them? If yes then at least the serial number is real, but fake copies can have real serial numbers that will, of course, be reported as valid. If you take them to Apple they can tell the difference. The bottom line is the only real way to be sure Airpods are not fake is to only buy them from Apple or an Apple Authorized retailer. --> https://locate.apple.com/
