My Series 1 Apple Watch says is currently up to date with the latest software. However my iPhone says it’s only at watchOS 4.3.2, and won’t give me a newer software update. I know that the series one watch is compatible with 6OS, so what should I do?

So my phone also says it is up to date with the latest software. Perhaps I am mistaken that it can be updated anymore? I found a few sources that said that it was compatible with watchOS 6, yet not 7, which is not my concern. I mainly want to know why that my phone is saying this, and how to fix it and get my watch to the most current update available for its kind.

If your watch won't update past WatchOS4 then you have a 1st generation watch not a series1.

Have a look in settings/general/about in your watch app and look at your model number,if it starts with an M then tap on this number and if you see A1553 or A1554 then you have a 1st generation watch.
