Cannot send a link to download an album from iTunes Store

I am a musician with a new album out - people who don't subscribe to Apple Music want to download my album but the link on the iTunes Store to share the album links instead to Apple Music.

I tried generating a link via Apple Services Marketing Tools but it seems the options for iTunes have been removed.

Why is this seemingly simple process impossible? All I want to do is share a link so people can download my album if they cannot stream it.

Is there a solution to this issue as I've Google searched and turned up nothing.

This is so frustrating!

Alan,

Your observation is correct; that is how it works now. Even if you do a "Copy Link" from the Store listing, the link goes to Apple Music.

They can still find your album in the Store if they search, although that is nowhere near as convenient as having the link. Also, you might consider making it available for download at another online store, such as BandCamp.com.

Thank you for your reply - I find Apple's policy utterly ridiculous though - forcing people to jump through hoops to download is no way promote music! Apple cleary have zero regard for people who don't want to subscribe to their service. Is it even legal linking to something outside of the service you're after?

My album is available on multiple digital platforms, all of which I can provide links to except for the iTunes Store!

I'm hoping someone can provide a work-around for this - not happy at all.

But again, thank you for confirming I wasn't going crazy!
