My MacBook doesn't load any webpages only when my MacBook is connected to my HP monitor. Once I disconnect, the webpages load. Is this normal?

I have an HP monitor that I use for my work computer at home and I have been trying to use it with my MacBook. I have no issue connecting the monitor, but suddenly I am unable to load any webpages. When I disconnect the monitor, the webpages suddenly start loading. Is this a known issue?

Hi Liliana,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

We are happy to help with the issue you are having with loading webpages while using an external monitor. We see you came from If Safari on Mac doesn't open a webpage or isn’t working as expected. What version is your MacBook running? Did the issue begin after an update or other change? Does the same thing happen if you try a different browser? You might want to try restarting both devices and try a different cable.

You can try to Start up your Mac in safe mode and see if the same thing happens.

You can also create a new user and test there as well. Learn how to Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac here. Let us know exactly what happens when trying each step.

Looking forward to details!
