Spotify and Apple Podcasts not working over Cellular

Hello, I have a cellular-connected Series 6 watch. I haven't been able to listen to Spotify or Apple Podcasts over cellular. Phone calls and Apple Pay work, so I know the cellular connection is active. When I open Apple Podcasts, I see a message that the podcasts in my lineup are 'not available at this time'. When I try to use Spotify, it simply says that my libraries or albums are "loading...." and nothing ever happens.


On Feb 8, 2021, a community specialist answered a similar question to this one (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252417042). The specialist said "To begin, we'd recommend double-checking the requirements for streaming directly to the watch with Spotify. Check that out here: Apple Watch - Spotify Everywhere." This answer was not helpful as I cannot find any relevant information on that page. And the specialist provided no further information.


I also noted that more than 80 people reported having this problem. I look forward to a helpful and detailed solution. Thank you.

So neither Spotify or Podcasts have never worked on your watch, or were they functional in the past?


Podcasts do not even require cellular, so that is somewhat surprising. Have you been able to sync and download them to your Apple Watch, while the watch is on the charger?

If the issue persists, I would suggest unpairing and re-pairing. This will bring back factory level settings and behaviour, while keeping your apps and data intact. Here is the starting point for that process:
