Spotify and Apple Podcasts not working over Cellular

So neither Spotify or Podcasts have never worked on your watch, or were they functional in the past?

Podcasts do not even require cellular, so that is somewhat surprising. Have you been able to sync and download them to your Apple Watch, while the watch is on the charger?

If the issue persists, I would suggest unpairing and re-pairing. This will bring back factory level settings and behaviour, while keeping your apps and data intact. Here is the starting point for that process:

You may want to try it again now by the way. It looks like the Spotify download feature is finally rolling out.

Not everyone lives in an area that has a high density of cellular towers, so the Apple Watch can have cellular drop-outs while out for a walk, run, bike ride, etc...

And users with GPS only Apple Watches can enjoy Spotify while away from their iPhone.

Yes let's see how well it works then. Downloads seem go pretty slow and will pause too, if switching away from the Downloads screen?

Downloading is useful for times when there is no wifi/LTE available, such as when on a flight…that said, you’ll most likely have your iPhone on you in which case you’d just use that for music.

Then if you have the GPS only model and iPhone is not with you on the run..., very handy indeed.
