Increasing Storage:
Upgrading your iCloud storage does not increase internal stage. Internal storage is what it is. You are stuck with what it is. As for purchasing iCloud storage, it takes just a few moments for the transaction to successfully go through.
Internal Storage:
If internal storage is low, then try clearing space:
I'm not so certain it is the battery giving you all the issues. Many system resources may be being used by unnecessary items. So, consider performing the following...
A. Clean TV and Music Libraries:
Remove all unneeded files from your TV and Music Libraries. Full-Movies take up 2-4GB typically, and a bunch of those would take up a load of storage, ideally. So, if you have any movies that are not needed, then delete them.
