Why did a link I copied using the "Copy" function suddenly paste a different link?

It's happened to me twice over the past month. Actually, wait, three times - last night it happened when I opened the browser and it opened a completely random URL that I didn't even click on.

First it was a password which I copied and then, it was suddenly 2 letters short so I had to do it again.

Then, it was the link that happened in the past week.

And last night it was a URL link on Safari. It's like Ghost Touch (which still keeps happening! My Safari and other apps automatically "press down" without myself pressing on them but as if someone else is doing it.)

My iPad is not attached to another device as far as I know, and I don't have a Clipboard function - unless, like I said, it is connected to another device, which from my previous questions could appear possible but seems absolutely ludicrous, stupid and insane!

All iOS/iPadOS devices have a clipboard - although the extended functionality with other devices, via Apple’s Continuity features, can be enabled or disabled as required.

As for your reported “ghost touch”, are you using a case for your iPad? If so, as a diagnostic, try removing the iPad from the case.

You may find that the User Guide for iPadOS is a rich (and often overlooked) source of information about your iPad and its functionality. If you review the Guide, you will undoubtedly learn a lot about your iPad.

Here are links to both the downloadable and online versions of the Guide:
