Display of Desktop and Screensaver operations menu in Systems Preferences

I have a MacBook Air (Retina) 2020 with MacOs Big Sur with the latest update. When I try to change the Desktop picture, the dropdown menu in System Preferences, Desktop and Screensaver is not displaying so that I can see picture options to the right, and the top portion of the window cannot be resized. Any ideas?

Hey japerkins47,

It sounds like you're having some trouble with setting a desktop picture because the option isn't appearing. We'll be happy to help out.

Which macOS version do you have? Find out by clicking the Apple menu in the top left > About this Mac. While we get that information, can you also try going to System Preferences and let us know if the icon Desktop & Screen Saver is missing here? Or are you able to click the icon, but when you click the Desktop tab, it shows up blank?
