I have tried to disconnect and pair again. It seems the airpods disconnect as I am away from my phone. I walk and listen to spotify, get a few minutes from my house and it disconnects. Are you supposed to always gave the phone nearby? Negates the purpose for me to not have to lug it with me walks..
Nope that connection between the watch and the airpods should stay up fine, regardless where the iPhone is. That is the whole idea in outdoors activities such as running.
Are your music, podcasts and audiobooks working better in that regard? Perhaps this is a Spotify related issue.
Make sure to update your watch and apps to the latest available versions, too.
