Wi-Fi is very short range; typically about 50 meters (165 feet). Once you are farther away from your router than that you can’t use Wi-Fi. Your phone should also have cellular data (called mobile data in some countries). Go to Settings/Cellular (or Settings/Mobile Data) and see if you can turn it on. If you cannot you must contact your cellular network provider.

Your router is probably somewhere in your house that doesn’t reach that far. Does your phone switch to cell data when you are outside?
Do you mean wifi doesn't work when you're at someone else's house? Or something else?

When I’m outside of my house
Are you saying you don't have internet access when you're away from home, like in a car? Or something else?
Can you make phone calls?

No wifi in car
No
If you have a cell data plan and it is not switching over check with your cell service provider.
It’s not my router
