My iPad stopped connecting with my Smart Keyboard folio, is there a way to fix it?

I have used the keyboard before and it was working fine but all of a sudden it stopped, it never fell or anything.

I also checked the pins and there seems to be no apparent problem.

I bought it in the UK but currently am in Portugal is it possible to go to an Apple Store here to take care of this matter?

The electrical connections that pass though the flexible fabric hinges eventually fracture through repeated folding and use - often accompanied by an “accessory may be not supported” alert.


The Smart folio keyboard is not repairable. The only remedy is replacement of the keyboard. If your keyboard is within its one year limited warranty - and you have access to a proof of purchase (such as your corresponding sales invoice/receipt) - you might try obtaining assistance from a local Apple Store.


Be aware that keyboard layouts vary by country - and you may have difficulties finding a replacement keyboard that matches the locale of your current folio keyboard (UK).
