Dead Pixel

Hello everyone,

After 4 years with an iphone 8 I finally made the upgrade to the 12 about a month ago. Very recently a dead pixel appeared near the middle of my screen, and as far as I am aware I did not do anything to trigger something like that. I unfortunately did not get any applecare with my iphone, so I am wondering if there is anything I can do to get it exchanged or fixed for little or no cost. It is frustrating because I had my iphone 8 for 4 years and never cracked the screen or anything and simple made the upgrade as it was slowing now. While taking even better care of my new iphone (not cheap for me) this dead pixel appeared.

Any help or suggestions on how to go about handling this would be much appreciated. Thank you all!
