EtreCheck shows kernel panics

Hi All,

I posted a few moments ago. But then read that EtreCheck is helpful, so I ran that.

2019 iMac 27 inch

i9 3.6ghz

40GB RAM (32 GB OWC Third Party)

Vega 48

512 SSD

The computer crashes randomly, and restarts. In Mojave and Big Sur. It's almost unusable.

Below is the EtreCheck Report

iMac 27″, macOS 10.14

Double check to make sure that you have all the RAM modules firmly seated in the slots.

(it can take a fair push with two fingers to fully seat new modules into empty slots)

If that doesn't help,

  1. Remove the OWC 16GB modules and re-test with just the factory 4GB modules.
  2. Remove the factory 4GB modules and test it with just the OWC 16GB modules.

If 1 works without kernel panics, then contact OWC for assistants and support.

If 1 and 2 both work without kernel panics, then try reinstalling all 40 GB or run with 32GB.

Hello, BreakBeat_DJ.

Your EtreCheck report looks really clean. Except the part about having no TIme Machine backup configured. (You should do that.)

As for why you're getting thee kernel panics, that's unclear from this report. Nothing in particular jumps out.

See if the problem still happens in Safe mode (hold the shift key down at startup).

It takes longer to safe boot so be patient.

Does the problem persist while in Safe mode?

Exit safe mode by restarting your Mac normally and re-evaluate the issue again after a normal reboot.
