iphotos 2 mac = unable to read metadata. the file may be corrupt

saw this thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252040229 as solved but i am running 10.13.6 high sierra and im still having this issue

Unable to open iPhoto or update software I am unable to open iPhoto and therefore access any of the photos stored on my computer (2014 MacBook Air), of which there are many. An error report is generated, stating something like "iPhoto quit unexpectedly whilst using the iPhoto plug-in" (I now can't get it to open at all). It suggests that the report will automatically be sent to apple, but the issue remains. I notice also that there are 'no app updates available' on my computer but there is an iPhoto software update listed as an 'incompatible app update'. I would so appreciate some help!

iPhotos corrupted on external hard drive on my external hard drive, I moved over my old iPhotos 6-7 years ago. Now, when I want to open it, I get an error file. Upon further research, it appears the iPhoto founder is not supporters anymore, and needs to be updated for any chance to recover the 1000s of photos within it? Will the Genius Bar be able to do this, or do I have to go to an expensive 3rd party data recover company?? Thanks

Photos 6.0 - export failed, Cocoa error -1 In Photos 6.0, I can view the thumbnails of all old and new JPG images, but when I try to export some older images I get the error message "The export operation failed to create a file for the photo identified below: Cocoa error -1" I still have both iPhoto Library and Photos Library in my Pictures folder, since the launch of Photos in 2015. At the time, we were advised to keep both. Has Photos lost track of where the original high resolution files are? Help, please... (iMac 27" 2020, MacOS 11.2.3)
