Need help with odd problem restoring deleted iPhone app

Accidentally deleted Kindle and must not have read the directions carefully. The app store offered an update, so I updated the app, expecting it to appear on the phone. Nope. Now all I can do is go to the App Store and click OPEN. No Kindle icon on the phone itself. No reading without going to the App Store. Anyone know how to restore Kindle to the phone from this starting point? Many thanks for any help!

It is on the iPhone. Swipe all the way to the left to bring up the App Library. Tap in the search bar on top and you will get a full alphabetical list of apps. Tap and hold on the Kindle app and drag it onto the home screen. You can move it around from there just like any other app.
