Gift card accident

I mistyped an email, sending a gift card to a non existing account, or some random person via the App Store. Is there a way I can get the money that I sent back?

I purchased an Apple $500. gift card for a friend. I sent it by messenger to him and it was intercepted by a hacker. Is there anything I can do to retrieve my money? Can this transaction show where it was used?
