MacBook Pro 16.1 - slow WiFi 5GHz internet download speed in bootcamp - broadcom 802.11ac 101.x.x.x.x

If anyone is having slow internet speed issue, try setting your router channel to lower number, I am using channel 40 and internet speed is great at 100mpbs on Aussie Broadband NBN.

I have been troubleshooting for a while and noticed that once that Wi-fi channel was set to auto and it changes to 100+ channel number then it would not connect at all.

also try and download windows catalog version 101.10.152.4

hope this helps, enjoy!

The wide channel settings really did not cause any issue, but I noticed that 20 and 40mhz settings does not utilise my NBN speed.

At 20mhz net speed peaks around 40mbs, and at 40mhz around 80mbs, and at 80mhz at 110mbs tops.

I have a Sagemcom NBN router and it have 2 channels on 2.5ghz and 5ghz so the split allows different devices to not congest the traffic.

Wifi scan also shows that my current settings differs to most my area so neighbours wifi doesn't interfere.

Thanks for the tip though, cheers!
