Why is the Apple news app on mac not available in split view? I am trying to do the news app split view with Safari or Mail and the system gives me an option that is not available with this view. I've checked everything on settings and all is in order.
Start with both apps open on the desktop.
In either app that you wish to split with, click the green stoplight icon at the top left of the app window and select a left or right side tile for that app.
Do the same for the second app, obv choosing the opposite side tile.
Resize the given space by using the slide bar between the two apps.

Hi and thanks for the reply. I'm doing all that you mentioned but split screen is not working for the news app. When selecting the news app it gives me a message that "split screen is not available with this view".
Is your version of macOS Catalina up to date?
The current version of Catalina is 10.15.7.
If it is not, please apply any OS and security updates (not upgrades) that are available in System Preferences > Software Update.
Maybe there's a software fix that needs to be applied.
News app is available to use in split view.
What part of the process is hanging you up?
On a Mac you really don't need to use Split View. You can just manually move the News app window to the left, and then place the Safari window on the right?
Yes, everything is up to date. The issue seems to be only with the news app. Everything else is working on split view.
