Charge port damage

I got a notification that there was water in my charge port and to leave it dry out so I did that. After an hour or so I tried charging it as the battery was super low and I need my phone charged as my dad is very ill and I need it incase of an emergency with him!! it was working fine but now i am getting a burning smell from the charge port!! I quickly unplugged it and the charger jack was slightly black!!! I am worried is my charge port damaged???

There's a chance that the water entered into the port and into the phone itself. I understand that this phone is critical to you, but at this point, I would recommend that you stop using it and power it down to prevent any further damage. Then make a Genius Bar appointment at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider to have them take a look and provide you with your options. During this time, see if a friend or relative can loan you their phone or help you contact your father.
