Coping text from a gmail msg. into pages

When I copy (ctrl-c) large amounts of text in a gmail message and try to past that (ctrl-v) into pages the text is in a text box. Smaller amounts of text copy as expected .

How can I best deal with this problem?

font and paragraph bigger from Word to Mail Hi everyone, When i copy past text from Word (office for Mac) to a new message in Mail, I loose the font and the paragraph size. It's definitely bigger and paragraph space are larger which is not very nice. I don't know how to keep the same presentation in order to keep my email with a compact text. Using Pages to draft an email to send using MAIL on my MAC I wrote a long email draft in PAGES and then copied it and pasted it as the content of an Email on MAIL. Well that didn't work well as there is no formatting such as margins and I can't edit the email content. Is this just not possible? Is there a better way to write an email that you can edit as well as a word processor document? I've been spending too much time trying to find the answer in HELP files and User Guides, maybe because I am not phrasing my question well.

Copy less text at a time that does not produce the text box. There may be something that Gmail is placing on the clipboard that Pages detects as a reason to use a text box. As a fellow user, I cannot tell you what that content may be, and there is no fix for Pages, other than your experimentation with Paste and Paste and Match Style menu choices.
