new iMac24 keyboard with touch ID stopped working after being charged unless left connected to the thunderbolt port. Magic mouse works okay. When connected with the charging cable it shows 100%.

Try switching it off and on. If that won’t work, restart the iMac.
Thanks. A shutdown the iMac and then powered it back on. Initially didn't connect to the keyboard. Plugged in the keyboard so I could login and then unplugged the keyboard and it remained connected. Seems strange that it wouldn't work after charging but working now; will monitor. Appreciate the suggestion.
