apple music remote

I’m about to switch from Spotify to Apple Music due to Lossless format. I have connected my mac with DAC and stereo via usb to enjoy finally music as it supposed to be. Is there any option like spotify connect to remotely control Apple music running on the mac via iphone or ipad? That’s very important for me / deal breaker. Thanks

No, not that I’m aware of, the iTunes Remote App only lets you browse you’re Mac’s local library.

However if you’re using an iPhone or iPad there is a workaround. Let’s say you want to listen to something new, if Apple Music is also setup on your iPhone, you can browse there and maybe find the new Beck single, (or Jeff Beck if you prefer), and add it to your library. Now when you search using the iTunes remote to your macOS library, the song will be there (might take a minute). Playlists work this way too, though I haven’t tried everything. It’s certainly not as good as a full featured remote, like say Parallels Access, but it gets you by.
