Printing from Big Sur on a Mac with an HP-1112 printer.

Printing with an HP-1112 printer. It won't work on Big Sur. How do I work it please? Each time I go back to replace Big Sur with the old programme, Catalina, (which was the way to print on my new Mac,) it tells me update, but if I update it to Big Sur I cannot print on my HL-1112 printer! Apparently this is a common problem but is there a common solution please?
