Apple Watch Stopped Working Entirely

I seem to be the only person I know who has owned two apple watches in two years and both of them just stopped working right as they were our of their 1 year warranty. The first one I bought in 2019 and it only lasted until 2020. It was an Apple 5 and because they wanted me to pay to repair it I traded it in for a lower model and they gave me $150 credit.

I bought an apple watch 3 on 6-21-2020 and that watch just died again. Apple also wants to charge me to repair it. I haven't dropped the watch or abused it, I have just worn it.

Has anyone else had this experience and any idea what to do about it besides just throw it away? I am loathe to get another apple watch that will only last a little over a year.

It won't charge, it won't hard reset, it won't do anything at all. Great paperweight though at the moment.

I have been using Apple products for over 15 years and have an ipad and an iphone. I have not had this experience with any of their other products or such terrible customer service.

Thank you

It didn’t turn on at all. Just like this one. Nothing, nada, no charge , dead. I sent it in when I bought the new one and they gave me $150 credit. The watch was just over a year old and I guess they fixed it.

I am looking into a Fitbit. This is just ridiculous. I have 3 watch bands, two chargers and a dead apple watch I can’t use.

Apple should repair or give me a new watch. Their CS in this area is horrible.

Neither my husband nor I have had this issue. I had his original Series 3 for a year after he used it for a year and he’s had his Series 5 almost a year now. We also get AppleCare+ to extend the warranty, but mainly because we are both clumsy and want the accidental damage coverage.

If you got trade in credit on the first one how was it not working?

I would agree with you 100% if it weren’t for the fact that is my second Apple Watch that did the exact same thing. I didn’t make any noise about the first one and I turned it in and got less than half of what it was worth towards a new one. When you have a second Apple Watch that does the exact same thing in the exact same period of time there was a problem here and they should stand behind it and provide me with a new one.

Fact: You are one unlucky dude. Don’t use your experience to extrapolate that this is common. It is not. I have a series 0 that still works as well as a series 4 that I currently wear. With two with two watches failing back to back it almost seems as if there’s some kind of environmental or use case going on.
