Upgrading to Apple One Family Plan

I currently subscribe to Apple Music, Apple TV+, and have 2TB of iCloud storage. These are all already shared with my family members. If I upgrade to the premier plan, it looks like I'll get the same items for about the same price per month (plus Arcade, News and Fitness thrown in). If I switch to Apple One, will I have to re-invite my family members to join iCloud storage, and if so, will everything currently in each individual account be preserved? Basically, I'm hoping it's just a smooth transition where nothing I currently have changes except for the billing, which will be condensed.

I have never done what you need to do but I stongly suspect a transition of that kind would be seamless. Coverage would be continuous for you and family members. It's only when you are doing something that results in interruption of coverage that you have to start being concerned such as switching Family Sharing organizers which requires dissolution of a family group.

The link I provided earlier says: "If a family member subscribes to Apple One

If you belong to a Family Sharing group and a family member subscribes to an Apple One Family or Premier plan, you can choose to keep your current iCloud storage plan or use the shared iCloud storage in Apple One. "

From that I interpret that any family member who currently shares in your plan will transition to being part of your Apple One family. If a family member was not part of your plan and still didn't want to be then they could continue to do that.
